You may be able to go under the knife during your lunch break, but your facelift probably won’t make it past next year’s Christmas party. Although facial fillers are currently one of the popular non-invasive cosmetic procedures, they require many touch-ups in order to maintain that youthful look. But what if a quickie brow lift could last forever?
According to Dr. J. David Holcomb, a cosmetic laser surgeon and co-developer of a new procedure called Acculift, it’s becoming more possible to obtain a permanent facial rejuvination without any incisions.
“Instead of injecting the area with a filler, which becomes less effective over time, the Acculift procedure involves the actual removal of the sagging tissue so that the problem areas are no longer a problem,” Holcomb said. The removed tissue can even be reinjected into areas that the patient may want augmented, such as the lips or cheeks.
“We can address both sides of the coin and have so much more control over the three-dimensional outcome of the face,” Holcom said.
