Commuting can sometimes feel like a hassle. However, on the Staten Island Ferry, some of the 60,000 daily passengers have harbored a community aboard the boat. While commuting across the harbor on the 25-minute ride between Manhattan and Staten Island, passengers have time to build community by either catching up on some light reading, or catching up with one another. Here are the stories of some of the commuters.
