Running since 1817, the Staten Island Ferry is a passenger ferry service running between Manhattan and Staten Island. Service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Staten Island Ferry currently carries over 21 million passengers annually on the 25 minute journey each day. Whether riders are commuters or are first time tourists; for free, riders are not complaining much about the ferry’s operation.
